Links - August 2025

It is often said that you should write what you want to read. One type of blog posts I really enjoy going through are simple, yet curated, collections of links gathered by the author while surfing the Internet.

I haven’t been posting here for a while, so I thought I would give it a try. Here are a few links I found interesting this month:

Blog posts and articles:

Projects

  • jreibun: similar to the Tanaka corpus and the Tatoeba website, this project aims at creating a database of high-quality Japanese example sentences. The database is not available for download yet, but sentences from Jreibun are already displayed on Jisho.org. I plan to use it as a source of n+1 sentences via Anki and MorphMan when it will be publicly available.
  • MTG Arena Pack Recommendation Tool: a python script to help you choose which pack to open, and which cards to use your wildcards on, based on the cards you need.
  • Anubis: a program to filter HTTP requests from AI scrapers, using proof of work as its main challenge. Although I deplore that such program are necessary, the project seems promising. I’ll surely give it a try in the near future.
